DART recently set up the Dete Donkey Sanctuary in response to the many cases of abuse and mistreatment that are regularly inflicted on donkeys in rural areas.
This small sanctuary treats injured donkeys and holds free workshops to demonstrate and explain how people can take better care of their donkeys.
We also provide free humane harnesses for the donkeys and new straps are fitted to the carts.
Trash Removed from
Wildlife Areas
The illegal dumping of trash in wildlife areas bordering the National Park is a growing problem.
When they are not searching for poacher’s snares the DART/Ukhosi Team collects and removes plastic and other trash discarded in the bush around human settlement areas that border the National Park.
